Our Story
These days, FourB provides a one stop shop for all things cycle touring, from state-of-the-art bike hire, accessories sales, guiding and providing guests with al the knowledge they need before embarking on our local trails.
FourB packages multi-day trail holidays along the Great Lake Trail as well as the Timber Trail.
Your guests are guaranteed a safe and fun time on the trails with the team, who are all just as passionate about sharing their favourite trails with their guests.
FourB was born from a passion of mountain biking, discovered after Jonny (the owner )moved to Taupō to take up a role as a teacher at a local high school in 2010 and a fellow teacher friend encouraged him to give it a go.
Another friend asked him to step in and temporarily help with his cycle holiday company. By then, Jonny had become a competent, confident rider. Soon after, Jonny and his wife Maaike bought the business.
He quit his teaching job and acquired a van and a trailer to shuttle visiting cyclists to and from the trail heads. The couple added guest accommodation to the mix, as well as four electric bikes for hire and FourB was born; bed, breakfast , biking and beyond.
In 2019, they bought a former souvenir shop close to the mountain bike park and converted it to a cycle shop.

We love our place
If our team aren't working in the office or out guiding, you'll often find them on the trails enjoying their time of. We also spend time with the local trail builders helping to improve the trails and make them more accessible for everyone.

We take great pride in the selection of bikes we have for hire and make sure we only run the best available. Al of our e- Bikes have the Bosch performance motors, considered the best on the market. We also offer a great range of gear for sale in our shop from helmets, clothing, accessories and trail souvenirs.
